The fact that Menorca is surrounded by water means that
the visitor is offered numerous choices
of leisure activities connected
with the sea. |
|
The island of Menorca has some 216 kilometers of coastline.
Many of the coastal spots can only be
enjoyed fully when approached from
the sea. Due to their excellence, the beaches and bays are one of
the
main attractions of Menorca. The crystalline waters and undeveloped shore
line offer visitors the opportunity to experience the outstanding natural
beauty of the island. |
|
The coast of Menorca also offers some of the best natural
shelter in the Balearics. Fornells, Addaia
and Mahon are the best examples
of these protected inlets, the latter being one of the largest natural
ports after Pearl Harbour.

|
Due to its very interesting history and occupation by
the Arabs, the French and the English, Menorca
also offers beautiful architecture
as well as amazing prehistoric sites. Its well preserved outstanding
natural
beauty and traditions have also enabled the island to obtain the status
of UNESCO Reserve of
the Biosphere. A magical island well worth the visit!!
